nekeas extra virgin olive oil

Along with incredible old vine Grenache and sheep, the Nekeas valley in Navarra, Spain, is home to two varieties of olive grown at an average altitude of 500m; Arbequina and Arroniz.

It is just fifteen minutes by tractor from the groves to the mill where the freshly harvested olives are fed into state of the art machinery via gravity. The process solely involves perfect olives and meticulously clean machinery. Needless to say, no chemicals are ever used. These world class oils are routinely awarded the highest accolades in international tastings.

Arbequina is a star Spanish cultivar with fleshy, small dark fruits and highly aromatic oil content. It is gentle and sweet with a quiet almond edge. Arroniz is a more localised variety found across the Basque country and Navarra.
Its oil has notes of grass, artichoke and tomato with hallmark spice and a mouth-watering medium bitterness - a perfect partner for Arbequina.
